NOTARY TRAINING DAY – MORE HISTORICAL STUFF!
Last week I attended a Notary Training Event at Madingley Hall just outside of Cambridge. The Hall is lovely: built round about 1540, in private ownership until 1948, when bought by the University for £50,000. This must have been a huge amount of money in those days, although it did come with “part of the parish” of Madingley! It has undergone extensive refurbishment and restoration: my room was in part of a former stable block, but completely modern. The grounds are superb including a croquet lawn and walled garden. If ever you are Cambridge way it is well worth a visit and, provided there are rooms surplus to the needs of any educational events, you can stay there for a very reasonable price – and I am not on commission!
